Evaluation of yields on new varieties of hybrid watermelon

Abstract Watermelon is a very important commodity in food security, especially horticultural products. hybrid varieties are proven to be able increase production and income for watermelon farmers. breeding continues produce superior varieties. The purpose this study was obtain information on theproduction watermelons from research team Politeknik Negeri Lampung breeder.This used Randomized Block Design with nine treatments (varieties) repeated three times. results observations were analyzed using LSD test at 5% level. showed that WM200701 WM200702 had dark skin color red flesh. Sweetness level data significantly different by 9.3 °brix andl0.15 when compared control (8.9 °brix). Varieties WM 200703 200706 have bright green thin stripes yellow flesh color. 200704 200705 thick striations. has highest fruit weight 4.63 kg per fruit. six tested potential submitted registration variety.
